A beautiful girl was sitting on a chair at her customer service office. She was Nicole, a young girl in her early twenties.  As usual, that day, she was totally engrossed in her work. Around half past four, her boyfriend walked in to meet her. She was surprised to see him as he was expected to be out of town. She looked at him lovingly. Her boyfriend George reciprocated the same feeling through his bright eyes. He kissed her on the diamond engagement ring that he gave her on the engagement day.

As he was looking at her, a man walked in and pointed a gun at Nicole and asked her to give the ring. When he asked her to give it to him, she said no as it was a symbol of their love. Her boyfriend couldn’t save her and to his pain he saw a bullet piercing her chest. He ran over to the killer and beat him over the head with an iron road that was lying there. Then he ran and called 911. When the ambulance came, he was sobbing uncontrollably near his girlfriend.

A lady doctor came over and felt for her pulse. Then she stood up and said Nicole was still alive. Later at the hospital, as he was sitting beside her, he asked “Why didn’t you just give him the ring?” and then she softly spoke “Because when you gave it to me, you said it was part of your love for me and I knew if I gave him the ring, I would lose your precious love.” Nicole said that the diamond engagement ring meant a lot for her. The glittering ring was one of her best possession. The next day, she was pronounced dead. This sad story gives us a message: You love only once, you never love twice. And this story also tells us that diamond engagement rings are forever. It has great importance in our lives as it symbolizes love.
